3D Secure Terms and Conditions

By using Mastercard® SecureCode™., you indicate that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions, so please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

1.1       “you” and “your” means a Cardholder who uses 3D Secure.

1.2       “we”, “us” or “our” means PrePay Technologies Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with number 04008083 and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for the issuance of electronic money (FRN 900010), who can be contacted at PO BOX 3883 Swindon SN3 9EA.

2. Acceptance of these terms of use

2.1       Use of 3D Secure will represent your acceptance of these Terms of Use.

2.2       These Terms of Use should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cardholder Terms and Conditions, which can be found at https://nimbl.com/terms-and-conditions/. By using Mastercard® SecureCode™, you are indicating to us that you are also accepting these additional terms.

3. What is 3D Secure?

3.1       3D Secure is a payment authentication standard for online purchases which adds an extra layer of security when purchasing goods or services online with participating retailers. Mastercard calls its version Mastercard® SecureCode™.

3.2       You will know that an online merchant is a participating retailer when you will see the “Mastercard® SecureCode™” logo.

3.3       3D Secure is an extra security feature of your prepaid card and is not intended to replace security obligations in the terms and conditions of your Card.

3.4       3D Secure applies to all online transactions regardless of age, and for the avoidance of doubt will apply to your child’s online transaction.

4. How does 3D Secure work?

4.1       You do not need to register your Card, 3D Secure works automatically.

4.2       When purchasing online from participating retailers and authentication is required, you will be brought to a Mastercard® SecureCode™.

4.3       To complete the purchase, you or your child will be prompted by a notification to open the nimbl application.

4.4       You will be asked to login into the mobile app as normal and will see the transaction details and authentication screen.

4.5       To complete the purchase you will be required to confirm the transaction and then taken back to the merchant screen where the payment will show as complete.

4.6       The authentication transaction will only be valid for the online purchase you have received it for.

4.7       To enable you to use 3D Secure you should make sure you or your child have downloaded the nimbl mobile application and it is nearby when completing a transaction.

4.8       We do not charge for 3D Secure. However, you are responsible for internet fees when shopping online with a participating retailer.

5. Wwhat does my child need to use 3D Secure?

5.1       To use 3D Secure, your child will need internet access and their (or your) mobile phone with the nimbl application.

6. Declined transactions

6.1.      A transaction may be declined if you or your child refuse to or are unable to provide the requested information to authenticate the transaction.

6.2.      We may also suspend, limit or decline to process a transaction if: (i) needed to protect the security of your or your child’s account; (ii) necessary to prevent a crime or other misuses of your child’s account; (iii) the transaction appears unusual compared to how your child normally uses their nimbl card or if your child has lost their nimbl card; or (iv) because we are required to do so by any party which assists us in providing Mastercard® SecureCode™.

7. Suspension or termination of 3D Secure

7.1       We may at any time suspend, modify or discontinue, either temporarily or permanently, 3D Secure.

7.2       We may also change any aspect or functionality of Mastercard® SecureCode™ at any time without giving you prior notice.

8. Turning off your child's online payments

8.1       You can turn off your child’s online payments at any time in your nimbl application under spending controls.

9. Privacy Policy

9.1       For verification and security purposes, we must collect certain personal information from you including your mobile phone number (personal data).

9.2       We will pass your personal data to our third-party data processors who administer 3D Secure.

9.3       Your one-time code and personal data will not be shared by us with online retailers.

10. Security

10.1     Please notify immediately if you child’s card gets stolen or if you suspect that your child’s passcode is known to someone else.

10.2     Never let your child lend their nimbl card to anybody else

10.3     Use care to prevent anyone seeing your child’s card details being entered at the time of authentication.

11. Liability

11.1     You must tell us immediately if you know or suspect that your one-time code is known to someone else.

11.2     You understand that unless you are a victim of fraud, you are responsible for all online purchases made using your one-time code. This does not affect your statutory rights or any rights that you may have under the terms and conditions of your Card.

11.3     We will not be liable to you for any loss resulting from (i) your use or attempted use of 3D Secure, (ii) any suspension, modification or discontinuance of 3D Secure.

11.4     If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of Mastercard® SecureCode™, your sole and exclusive remedy is to terminate participation in the relevant services.

12. Changes to these terms of use

12.1     We may add to or change these Terms of Use at any time. We will tell you in advance if we add to or change these Terms of Use.

12.2     The amount of notice that we will give you will follow the laws and regulations that apply at that time.

12.3     We will choose the way that we tell you; we can do it by letter, electronic mail, telephone or by any other means permitted law.

13. Governing law

13.1     These Terms of Use and any matter arising from them are governed by the laws of United Kingdom. The Courts of United Kingdom have exclusive jurisdiction in connection with them.

13.2     Any disputes arising from these terms of use will be dealt with by the courts located in United Kingdom.
