National Coding Week (15–21 September) is here — a week dedicated to helping people of all ages unlock digital skills. At nimbl, we believe those skills should start early, which is why we’re proud to announce our continued sponsorship of the Young Coders Competition 2026.

Now in its 10th anniversary year, Young Coders invites children aged 8–13 to get creative with Scratch coding under the theme “Navigating Your Neighbourhood”. Whether it’s designing an interactive map, showcasing hidden gems, or reimagining local landmarks, the challenge helps children explore coding while building teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

For nimbl, the fit is natural. Just as we give children hands-on experience with money management, Young Coders provides a safe, fun space to experiment with digital literacy. Both equip young people with skills they’ll carry for life.

The 2026 competition is now open, supported by free resources, curriculum-linked lesson plans, and live webinars for schools, clubs, and families. Children can take part individually or in teams of 2–6, with every participant receiving a certificate and the chance to win prizes for their school.

  • Entries open: September 2025 - now!
  • Closing date: 8 May 2026
  • Winners announced: 16 June 2026

👉 Parents, carers, and educators — encourage your child’s school to get involved, or learn more at codingcompetition.org.

As National Coding Week shines a spotlight on the importance of digital skills, we’re proud to support Young Coders in inspiring the next generation of creators, problem-solvers, and innovators.
