How to set up Pocket Money

  • Pocket Money: Step 1

    We recommended setting up regular pocket money or allowances to help polish your child’s budgeting skills.

    1. Log in at nimbl.com/login.
    2. Go to your child’s profile page by selecting their name.
    3. Choose ‘Set up pocket money’

     

     

     

    Important: You need to have money in your Parent Account for pocket money to be paid. If there are insufficient funds in your Parent Account, pocket money will not be paid

  • Pocket Money: Step 2

    Decide if you would like to pay your child pocket money weekly or monthly and the amount you wish to pay.

    For example, Somerton’s pocket money will be paid on a monthly basis and she will receive £25 per month.

  • Pocket Money: Step 3

    Check that you are happy with the details saved on their profile.

    E.g. Somerton’s pocket money is set to £25 per month

    How to set up Gifting

    • Gifting: Step 1

      Gifting allows family and friends to electronically give money to your children and both parents and children can use Gifting!

      1. Parents can locate Gifting by clicking on their children’s profile page (example)
      2. Children can locate Gifting by clicking on their card page

      Click on Share gift link to get started

    • Gifting: Step 2

      Enter the email address of the friend or relative that you wish to share your child’s gift link, you can also add in an optional message.

    • Gifting: Step 3

      The friend or relative will then receive an email, with a unique Gift Link.

      When clicked on the unique Gift Link, they will come to your child’s Gift Page (see example).

      They can they choose the amount to gift and personalise their message!

      As we believe saving is important, the money gifted to your child will arrive in the their savings account.

      If the child wishes to spend the money, they should move this to their nimbl card.

      How to set up micro-savings

      • micro-savings: Step 1

        micro-savings can only be turned on and off by children

        1. Children can locate micro-savings under nimbl savings

      • micro-saving: Step 2

        1. Children can choose the amount to micro-save every time they use their nimbl card and change it at any time
        2. There are no negative balances – so if there isn’t enough money on the nimbl card to transfer the micro-savings amount, the payment will be made and the micro-savings transfer will be skipped

        1. Children can see how much they micro-save each month on their dashboard
        2. Parents can also view how much their children have micro-saved on their parent dashboard
        3. Children can turn micro-savings on or off at any point

        How to set up Spending Controls

        • You now have the option of guiding where your children use their nimbl card:

          1. In Store (always enabled)
          2. Online
          3. Cash Machines

          and also how much they spend with optional daily limits for cash machines and optional daily, weekly and/or monthly limits for purchases.

          1. Log in at nimbl.com/login.
          2. Click on your child’s nimbl card.

          1. Select ‘Configure Spending’ within the Spending Controls section.
          2. Choose what spending limit(s) you’d like in place, and enter the amount(s) for each selected spending limit.
          3. ‘Save Changes’ to complete the set up.

          How to lock and unlock the nimbl card

          • Lock and unlock: Step 1

            If you can’t find your child’s nimbl card, don’t panic, it’s quick and simple to ‘lock’ the card until you find it again:

            1. Log in at nimbl.com/login.
            2. Select ‘nimbl card’ from besides your child’s profile.

            1. You will see the card is currently ‘unlocked’
            2. Click this and it will ask you to ‘Lock Card’.
            3. Confirm the ‘lock’ by clicking ‘Yes’ and you’re all done.

          • The nimbl card is now set to ‘locked’

            To unlock, follow the same steps.

            How to view Statements

            • Oversee your child’s spending by viewing their statements online:

              Log in at nimbl.com/login.
              Select ‘nimbl card’ or ‘nimbl savings’ from besides your child’s profile.
              Click ‘View Statements’.
